Zo Motors | Saipan Development
Feasibility study and preliminary design planning for land development

Client
Zo Motors
Project Type
Topographic Mapping
Location
Saipan
Overview
Zo Motors is in the process of acquiring land in Saipan for future development. As part of their feasibility and planning phase, 2cofly was tasked with conducting a LiDAR and photogrammetry survey to help assess the site’s terrain and physical characteristics.
Although the area was generally flat, it was heavily vegetated, making it difficult and costly to obtain quality topographic data using traditional methods. By leveraging drone-based LiDAR and aerial photogrammetry, our team was able to efficiently capture high-resolution elevation and imagery data across the site.
Execution
The aerial data collection was completed within three days, and all final deliverables were processed and delivered within one week. This marked Phase One of Zo Motors’ development process, serving as a foundational study of the land.
The next phase will involve a detailed ground survey combined with drone mapping, which 2cofly will conduct in collaboration with a licensed surveyor to achieve engineering-grade accuracy.
Deliverables
3D Colorized Point Cloud: A complete digital twin of the site that visually represents all surface features
3D Ground-Only Point Cloud: A refined dataset containing only ground returns for accurate modeling
2D Orthomosaic Map: A high-resolution visual basemap for easy site interpretation
Digital Elevation Model (DEM): A precise surface representation for slope and drainage analysis
1-Foot Contours: Detailed elevation lines for design and planning applications
Result
The data provided Zo Motors with actionable terrain insights to guide design decisions and evaluate development feasibility early in the process. By combining LiDAR and photogrammetry, 2cofly delivered a fast, accurate, and cost-effective solution that supports informed planning and future collaboration.
Looking Ahead
2cofly remains ready to support developers and planners not only in Guam, but across the entire Micronesian region. Our mission is to make advanced geospatial data accessible, reliable, and valuable for every stage of development.
